About Us
Action Chiropractic of Danbury is a practice that has been in the making for over 20 years. During those years Dr White and his wife Wendy critically evaluated many healthcare offices with an emphasis on results, in order to design a patient oriented practice. What was found is that the most successful practices are those that have the highest level of patient compliance. With this in mind we purposed ourselves to develop a practice where the doctor-patient relationship is one of cooperation.
The second greatest predictor of excellent results is clinical skill. Dr White has been a practicing chiropractor in 4 states over the past 14 years. In 2000 he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, the flagship institution of the chiropractic field. Shortly there after, while establishing his first Action Chiropractic, in Moline Illinois, he gained prominence as the first General Chemistry teacher of Palmer College and Scott Community College's fledgling pre-chiropractic curriculum.
While studying at Palmer he strove to distinguish himself clinically through certification in the Cox Distraction Technique, which he utilizes daily to treat a multitude of spinal conditions from sciatica to disc herniation. His fascination with spinal anatomy and it's pathology led to his membership in the American Academy of Spine Physicians. His interest in health and nutrition combined with his passion for teaching has led to many guest speaking engagements over the years for which he received a community service award from the Modern Woodmen of America insurance company.
Prior to attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr White studied to be a chemist. In 1995 he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts. While attending FSC he co-authored several peer reviewed papers in the Journal of Scientific Exploration and worked on unraveling the mysterious claims of cold fusion made by Pons and Fleishmann. Following graduation from FSC, Dr White entered the graduate chemistry department at Dartmouth College, in Hanover, NH, where he studied high resolution spectroscopy of molecules in argon matrices. However, it was while attending Dartmouth that he realized a continued burning to achieve his childhood goal of becoming a chiropractor.
It was at a very young age that Dr. White knew he would one day be a chiropractor. Growing up he was raised in a chiropractic household. His father graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in the early 60s. Practicing chiropractic back then, with no licensing or acceptance was a struggle. During this time the future junior Dr White learned of perseverance and truth from his senior. Under his tutelage the younger gained great knowledge about the philosophy and practice of chiropractic which primed his education and career.
“We appreciate the power of being able to be useful to mankind.” - B. J. Palmer
When Dr. White opened his first practice he wrote an essay about his father's transition from baseball to chiropractic. It is provided at the following link: "Chiropractic Meets The Field of Dreams"
